SEOUL, May 18 (Yonhap) – K-pop superband BTS’s mega hit song “Dynamite,” which was dropped in 2020, has won the “Foreign Work Award” by the Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers(JASRAC), according to the agency Big Hit Music on Wednesday.

JASRAC annually selects the Gold, Silver, Bronze, International, and Foreign Work Awards based on the total royalties of the previous year.

“Dynamite” is a song of disco pop genre and it depicts the hopeful messages that BTS sends to the whole world in the COVID-19 pandemic.

BTS has become the first K-pop artist to top Billboard’s main singles chart “HOT 100.”
